| Dear little Andriana |
| Life after twenty years is completely different. I’m already thirty years old. I may look |
| grown up now but it seems as if it was yesterday that I was a child. |
| While growing up you will see these changes too. The first thing I want to tell you is |
| that you will be able to drive but in a completely different way. You will enter your |
| car , give your destination and the car itself will automatically drive you to your |
| destination. Also, in 2042 bicycles have changed as well. You can travel long |
| distances within a few minutes without getting tired. Since the time I was ten years |
| old, shops have changed greatly too. The salespeople have been replaced by |
| machines. You ask for something and they give it to you, you pay for it and leave. |
| Talking about payments it is obvious that there is no money. Everybody pays by |
| credit cards that you can find in your smartphone. Even keys have vanished. You can |
| control everything through your smartphone. As I also know how much you like |
| cooking unfortunately I have to announce to you that there are automatic cookers. |
| I mean you just have to put the right ingredients inside the cooker and the food is |
| ready and delicious in no time at all. Sadly people don’t meet each other as much as |
| you do.We mainly communicate through the internet and as you can imagine we |
| have no realfriends. |
| As you can understand ,living in 2042 has both advantages and disadvantages too. |
| For this reason , as you get older , you should build true friendships and enjoy the |
| simple, every dayroutine. Take care! |

| Robots will replace humans in lots of human activities |
| Sometimes I feel so scared of what is to follow. |
| Fresh food will be hard to find |
| Running water supplies are coming to an end |
| Our planet will be so polluted that lots of animals will disappear |
| Maybe it’s about time we took some action! |
| Now it’s our chance to save our planet |
| Oh, my God! Time is running out… |
| We must all do something to save the Earth ! |

| Dear Apostolia |
| I would like to tell you how I imagine myself and the world will be like in twenty years |
| from now. |
| Firstly, we will have finished school. Secondly, we will possibly be married and may |
| have children. Our world will also have changed dramatically. For instance, the |
| science will evolve in all sectors and there will be a great deal of development. |
| We may be served by machines and robots. I believe that driving will be even more |
| automatic then and that the cars will be using solar energy or other green power |
| sources. I hope that new treatments for serious illnesses will have been found by |
| then. |
| On the other hand, there will also be some negative things too. For example, the |
| pollution of the environment will become even more serious affecting the ozone |
| layer in such a degree that more intense weather phenomena will appear on Earth. |
| The sea level will continue to rise flooding a lot of coastal cities or causing some |
| islands to disappear. |
| For all the above reasons, I hope that the governments will help and take some |
| serious action so as to prevent all these things from happening. In this way, we and |
| the future generations will be able to enjoy a more peaceful and beautiful life on our |
| planet. |

| Dear Dimitris-Nicolas |
| How are you? Guess what! I am a meteorologist. Do you remember when we were |
| at school and I was talking about the weather? Now you can see me on television |
| on the news. |
| I studied Meteorology in the university of Athens. I also have a Master’s degree from |
| Moscow’s university. For two years I was in Antarctica with other scientists and we |
| did experiments while studying global warming. Now I live in Athens. |
| Do you remember Areti? She was the girl I met in Thassos when I was fifteen years |
| old. We met again ten years later, we fell in love and we got married. We have two |
| wonderful kids. A four-year-old boy, Pantelisand a one-year-old girl, Amalia. |
| Next month I am coming to Thessaloniki to visit my parents. I would like to meet you |
| again after such a long time. What about you? |

| Dear Helen |
| I hope you are well. I’ve got some brilliant news! I’d like to invite you to a place that |
| I think you will love. Yesterday my colleagues called me and asked me to join them in |
| a unique scientific expedition. Guess what they told me…! |
| They informed me that our next mission is on a planet far away from our galaxy. They |
| also asked me If I could bring another distinguished scientist along because we will |
| certainly need some serious help. I thought that an astronomer like you would think |
| of it as a unique opportunity. We are going to stay on this planet for a very long time. |
| Other scientists have built there special facilities. There will also be some buildings |
| for us to live in as well as laboratories to do our experiments. Fortunately enough, |
| there is water and some plants for us to drink and eat but , of course, we will carry |
| some food supplies from the Earth. |
| So, what is your own opinion of this adventure? Would you like to come with us? |

| Dear Marianthi |
| I’m sending you this letter to tell you what I think will happen to our world after |
| twenty years. I have big expectations for our world but the biggest one is for people |
| to finally learn how to respect and protect our precious environment! Otherwise, |
| I’m afraid that plastic will surround the whole world! |
| Of course, I don’t want this to happen. Hopefully, there are thousands of people who |
| are trying their best for the protection of the environment. I really wonder how cars |
| will be like then. Will they be able to fly? Will they stop using petrol or they will be |
| using electric batteries instead? I also wonder if we will finally be able to reach planet |
| Mars. NASA scientists have proved with their experiments that some form of |
| life really exists on this remote planet so maybe after twenty years human beings |
| will finally be able to travel and , why not, live there! |
| Anyway, I also hope that the unpleasant situation we are facing now with the corona- |
| virus will soon disappear. I am very optimistic that negative things will change after |
| so many years. |
